Protect Lake Simcoe

Protect Lake Simcoe

Lake Simcoe is under threat.

Mega projects, such as The Orbit in Innisfil, the Bradford ByPass, and the Upper York Sewage Solution could greatly increase wasteful sprawl and car dependancy in our area.

We know that the climate crisis is going to get much worse, so it makes zero sense to double down on an unsustainable and forced reliance on cars as the primary mode of transportation.

To combat climate change we must radically shift how we build our communities so that nature and the ecosystem servcies we rely on are properly valued.

Send elected officials a message telling them that the health of Lake Simcoe must be a priority.

You are welcome to edit the text.

Here are some additional pointers you can use (if you'd like):

- The message doesn't have to be long or in-depth. Knowing the details of what's happening with these projects isn't your responsibility. Simply letting elected officials know that you are concerned about them, and that how they proceed with them will influence your vote, is enough;

- Mention your connection to Lake Simcoe and/or the watershed;

- Explain why you care about the lake and the water quality in our area.

And, as always, be polite. :)
